Why coupon users cannot save money even they have used lots of coupon apps?
Have you ever used coupon apps to search for a specific coupon, but you end up used other coupons and buy lots of things that you didn't plan to buy? There are 96% Americans use coupons when they do the grocery shopping. They need a "real coupon app" that can help them save money.
Anything else should be improved?
Through the competitive analysis and the feedback from interview, the following is the 3 findings that I conclude:
- Need to spend long time to map items on their shopping list to the coupon deals in the app
- Cannot figure out where they should go if they want to use multiple coupons at the same time
- Easy to use coupons that they do not originally plan to use it
Avoid Impulse Shopping
Through the user research, I found that the current flow coupon app is based on the marketing strategy. In this case, users will be kept attracting by the large amount of coupon information. That's also why they do impulse shopping when they browse lots of coupon deals.
